He's not sure if it's just that it was too painful to speak of - and while Ruka harbours more pain in her than most people three times her age have, even after having lived long, complex lives, she's never shied away from talking about painful matters - or if they just weren't impacted as much as Ruka was, as young as she had been at the time. Either way, he listens with the calm patience of someone who knows that he's hearing something not everyone is privileged enough to hear, careful to remain silent lest his contributions puncture the moment.
