[ Oh no, it's daddy Remus's owl. Ruka didn't know he made the journey through universes, and seeing this owl again after such a tumultuous few weeks makes her incredibly nostalgic and a little bit remorseful.

She may have hugged the owl before reading the card or even noticing the flowers.

[It's 11 pm his time. Therefore the photo he sends of Tokyo Tower with this text makes a bit more sense, in the context of his travels. Though whether or not she knew he was on a small vacation is up for debate.

A short message accompanies it, since he can't be sure to assume that 10 am isn't a strange hour for some.]

Just sending a photo to all of those who might hold some affection for this country. Thought you may appreciate it. It isn't really home, it just looks like it; still pretty nostalgic. At least the tower lights up just the same as before.

[ kanaya doesn't sneak in to leave this gift, she came by to deliver karkat's in person, and left it while she was there. she had to ask him for ideas, and when he told her ruka would appreciate clothes she had him give her us much he could to try to work out something to fit her style.

she made three complete outfits, mostly in red, purple, and gold. two are casual, one that's dress just enough that it can be either casual or formal. it has short sleeves, but she included a pair of long gold gloves because karkat told her she'd want to keep her arms covered. it seemed like a fair compromise, especially for someone with empathy by touch. ]
