She must be shook to be stepping in, so I guess above all else she won't allow the Porter to be destroyed. Honestly, I'm a little surprised it can be, but that's a different conversation.

Yeah. Mitchell says she hasn't made herself known in the time I was gone, and in the time I was here, the last time she spoke to us was when the last world was being destroyed — when she saved us from it.

The only useful thing that came out of it was supposedly, there's a different consciousness within the Porter now. We could call it her child, I guess. Male voice, apparently.
As for her, according to that being, she's "somewhere else" in this universe. Another person or what that entails for her, it's not clear to me. I don't know that form even matters for a god like her.

Hmm. Maybe? But as far as this world is concerned, that device existed here before we arrived. Whoever "he" is, he could have inhabited their Porter before we arrived. Like how Clotho existed in a separate universe's Porter.

I'd wondered that, but it seems to be a cover. Supposedly, Lachesis is the one that taught them to create that Porter, in order to bring the remnants of us from the City. Her influence on this world rewrote its history, including that tidbit. How much else is difficult to tell, I guess. And how much of this being's story to believe.
That's why I've found it difficult to believe she wasn't within it anymore, but it may be that she wields a wider influence in some way. Whether she's simply within the fabric of this reality, or however you want to logically perceive it.
But I guess now we know for sure that she's here, regardless.

I have ideas, but I need more information. Being Earth-bound like this is really inconvenient to combat an orbital weapon.

He's never told me the full breadth, but he can hear machines for miles around. I'm certain he can talk to them, in return.
