power permissions + plotting
So Ruka's got Some Ridiculous Powers! It's a trainwreck, but so is Yu-Gi-Oh, so let me have my garbage. The only one that really needs permissions is the Extreme fuckin Empathy, so we'll go down that list in stages. Empathy, in this case, means the supernatural ability to feel and experience someone else's feelings as if they were your own.

❤︎ Proximity Empathy
Presence-based, aka the shitty kind! This is the empathy that just targets anyone in physical proximity. While not as strong as the direct link of psychometric, this power means that if your character is In A Mood or Experiences An Emotion around Ruka, she'll pick up on it! This can be as mild as "the lingering disappointment of a mediocre take-out lunch" or as extreme as "everyone I loved is dead and also I have 72 hours to live and I'm just going to hyperventilate in this janitorial closet." The scope of how much she can pick up from your character specifically is up to you!
So basically IF OUR CHARACTERS ARE TALKING TO EACH OTHER IN PERSON, PLEASE.... TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON.....

❤︎ Psychometric Empathy
Touch-based! Basically, if somebody experiences intense emotion while in contact with an object, or directs/associates intense feeling with that object, that feeling is stored within the object. When Ruka touches that object, she feels that intense emotion as if she were that person. Examples: kid's playing baseball, and while he's holding the ball he finds out that SURPRISE HE GETS TO MEET HIS IDOL, then all the excitement and elation and holy shit would wind up in the ball. Woman has a wedding ring, and every time she catches sight of it on her hand she thinks about her husband (and smothers all the things she had to give up to make this relationship work, because she loves him), then all that love and conflict would reside in the ring. Or, you know, a dude gets stabbed to death, the experience of his death stays in the blade. Cool. This power can also extend to organic material separate from its source, if the emotion is significantly strong enough. Bloodstains at a crime scene, for instance, or blood collected as a liquid sample. The same concept would apply to tears, sweat, etc.
❤︎ Fuckin...... Heart Rooms....
Where the other two powers are Ruka reacting to others' emotions, this one is the active alteration of them. Heck yeah!!
How this works is: you know how everybody loves symbolic dreamscapes?? Like that, only any time. Characters would possess a literal-and-metaphoric realm within their psyche — a territory that would represent their mind, their emotions, their history, personality, etc, as communicated through symbolic imagery — that Ruka would be able to access. How this room and its contents are represented would be up to you! But the general idea to keep in mind is that the objects that exist in this room would represent aspects of your character's heart: what things they like, for instance, or the people they have strong feelings for (positive or negative), what they value, but also the things that have emotionally affected them, such as a trauma, or a great grief, or the Best Day Ever.
While in this room, Ruka would be able to interact with its contents, and the changes she makes would affect the character in the "real world." For example, if a character's ongoing despair over a betrayal is represented with a picture behind broken glass, then replacing the glass might encourage the character to forgive the betrayal and let go of those negative feelings, while discarding the picture might cause them to end the relationship entirely. This power could be used to help characters or fuck them up, accidentally or intentionally, depending on what actions were taken. More immediate/transitory emotions would be more prominent and easier to alter, while deep-seated issues or "defining traits" would be difficult perhaps even impossible to budge. Since this is your character, this would be up to you!!
Entering a heart's room would cause both Ruka and the person being trespassed to fall into a trance, so when she actually tries pulling this shit intentionally, she's going to avoid... doing it in front of an audience.......

And that's them! So now for forms. If our characters are interacting in person, please fill out this first one:
Name: new phone who dis
Can she??: Can Ruka sense/feel your character's feelings? If there's a reason why she wouldn't be able to — your character has no emotions, is trained to block out psychic interference so it's just the equivalent of hitting a brick wall — please feel free to list that here.
Baseline Mood: This is your character's usual, moderate state. For example, if your character is generally cheerful and has a good time all the time, their baseline "mood" could be contentment, positive, optimistic. If their life is falling apart and it's one fucking thing after another, their baseline mood is probably irritable, stressed, or frustrated. With no other stimulus, this is the state your character naturally returns to. (If our characters are in frequent proximity, this will be the go-to for what Ruka senses from them in the handwaved background.)
Current Emotion: Please mention what thread/event this refers to, and a quick rundown of any feelings that may not be readily apparent in your tags!
Additional: Anything else I should know going in!!

Name: who the fuck
When?: How far in advance are we planning this? If you want to get a log for this as soon as feasible (or if we're already getting started), "now" is a good answer! However, if you're interested in doing this at a later time — when your character is actively seeking her out, or to facilitate development in the future, or your plate is just too loaded this month — go ahead and give a future range. If you just know you want to but have no idea when, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ question marks are fine.
What do you want out of it? Is she going in to fuck up your character, or fix some damage previously done? Is it a great excuse for someone to have a go in your emotionally-constipated character's head to come out and go "please get therapy" ? How active do you want this encounter to be? What would you like the general end result to be for your character?
