[He's put this off for.... no real reasons other than somehow, things keep seeming to come up. Life has a way of that sometimes, no matter how much you intend to do something, you just... never get around to it. But it hasn't slipped his mind that Jacob had directed him to her when he asked which imPorts might know the most about the way things operate around here.
Random contact out of nowhere is not his forte. He has no clue how to do this without it being weird, so-- it'll probably be weird. But it'll get the job done.]
My name is Diego, and about a month or so ago, I was given your name when seeking the people have been here longest, to talk to about the way things work in this place, who might have the furthest reach back to things long before I was here.
Would you hear me out, on a few questions I've got?
Sure. You got the right person, at least, if you're looking for old stuff. And if I don't know the answer, I can point you to who does. If I can't, then nobody knows.
Yeah. It's where I grew up, before it was destroyed. The first wave of "modern" imPorts here were refugees from that world, but none of its original population survived.
You'll have to be more specific, on what you want to know.
Jacob mentioned something about that world being destroyed by a God of some kind, said that all signs are pointing to the same thing happening again, if we can't stop it.
Do you know about how that first world was destroyed? Why? The kind of shit we'll be up against if these Gods come for us again? Powers, weaknesses, whatever.
The "why" is partially "humans summoned her to destroy us, and that's what they got," half family drama, I suppose. I can't say I know of anything that could harm her. She's a being on a scale much larger than any of us.
The only one that came for us was Atropos. Lachesis and Clotho, in their own ways, both loved their 'heroes.'
[It's been a very long time since he's done any studies at all, but he's almost positive they touched on things like that with Dad years ago. He makes a note about it, either way. Similarities are good, even if they aren't identical.]
Good to know. And thanks for the link, I'll read through that soon.
Who calls onto a God to destroy a world you're living in? Didn't they realize they were part of that world, and it would... happen to them too?
Are the other two still around or active in any way that anybody knows of?
Neither are "active." Clotho was bound to a different Porter, on a different Earth, and there's no knowing if her world still exists or not. Better to be destroyed, than to return there.
Lachesis is more complicated. The last time she acted in this world was a year and a half ago — it's the only time that she has. We don't know for sure where she is now, or in what state.
[If he were a different person, he might weep for humanity at this point. But alas.]
With not knowing either way, is it possible that she could turn up at some point down the line out of nowhere? And you say another Porter... do the ones of different worlds work differently, somehow? Is the power or magic or whatever it is that makes them work different from one world to the other?
What happened when Lachesis was here last time?
[He realizes he's asking a lot of somebody. Rehashing old things, possibly better left forgotten. But he definitely appreciates her answering his questions.]

I made a post about them, last summer. I don't have those paintings anymore, but the video quality should be clear enough.
